Usually I don't buy things that don't fit me, even when dieting, because I figure just because I'll be that size someday doesn't mean this particular article of clothing is going to fit well or be flattering on me when the time comes.
But with Mervyn's going out of business and advertising 70% off and my size 14 tops getting loose, I made an exception and bought a pair of 12P pants. That was a month ago and today I tried them on and they fit!
They don't look too bad either. They are gray with pinstripes made out of some shiny thread kind of like some of the threads in my RocketDog sneakers. Which are also gray. Yes, I wear sneakers with dress pants and a suit jacket. Hey, I'm a Software Engineer -- I have to be a little geeky or everyone will think I'm a Pointy Haired Boss.
So it all worked out. However, I don't think I'll do this again as I managed to get a pair with no pockets and with cuffs. I would have figured that out if I'd been able to try them on. Well, at least I would have figured out the cuffs. I don't always catch the no pockets thing. And what is it with women's clothing not having pockets? Where am I supposed to put my iPhone, for goodness sake!
But that's not the important part. The important part is that I'm in size 12! Not just on top but on the bottom too. The middle part seems to be the last to leave me so this 12P pants thing has been a long time coming.
It's just so awesome to not be forced to wear saggy butt pants just so I can button them at the waist!
